Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services company, is partnering with the Alaska Department of Labor and the UAF Mining and Petroleum Training Service organization to offer training, development, and potential employment opportunities for Alaskan residents.

The residential training program simulates the work environment and job responsibilities of a Schlumberger Operator on the Alaska North Slope. Candidates selected for the Operator Trainee program will be offered hands-on and classroom training and several valuable certifications. Upon successful completion of the program, candidates will have a working knowledge of Schlumberger Operator positions and be a potential candidate for future entry-level positions with Schlumberger.

Operator Trainee Development Program

Dates: November 6-20, 2016
Location:  Delta Junction, Alaska
Cost: Tuition, Room & Board and Transportation to/from Fairbanks provided by Schlumberger, ADOL and UAF MAPTS.

Elegibility requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older and be a current resident of the State of Alaska.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have contributed to the Alaska Unemployment tax within the last 5 years (worked in Alaska).
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must pass Background, MVR, Physical Agility and Drug & Alcohol screenings.
